Life: My Journey to the East, Part 一

I'm reading: Life: My Journey to the East, Part 一Tweet this!
It’s been a while now since I’ve last blogged – sorry! It’s because I’ve been really busy traveling to the East. It’s sad to say, but I couldn’t really access the Internet from where I was. I wouldn’t really call it a vacation because there was nothing relaxing about this journey; it was more of a “life changing experience”.

Since it was my first time stepping foot out of North America, I totally did not know what to expect. The 15-hour flight there was just enough to kill me. I was seated at the very end of three seats, I felt trapped because each trip I made to the washroom felt like an obstacle course, I had to hike over two other passengers. By the end of the plane ride, I could hardly feel my swollen feet and I had a terrible migraine that wouldn’t stop pounding. At least I made it to my destination okay.

My first destination was: Hong Kong

My very first thought was how hot it was in Hong Kong! I landed in Hong Kong in the afternoon, but the weather in Hong Kong obviously felt nothing like the late September weather in Toronto. It was hot and humid, the air was smoggy, I couldn’t really breathe. The food in Hong Kong was very affordable and very tasty. Shopping was also fun! It was unfortunate that I felt ill adjusting to the jet lag for about 3 days, so I wasn’t really able to visit any of the tourist hot spots. All I did was go shopping and eat – which, I didn’t mind. :)
